When something is too good to be true ...

This man is pandering to save his own neck.  That's good news because it
shows that some people actually realize what a mess we are in.  The bad
news is that voters might believe him and eventually find out they were
bamboozled, thus further undermining our confidence in elected officials
and enforcing our feelings of futility.
