Gen. Patton was against nuclear weapons and strategic bombing.  All he
wanted was air cover to protect his mechanized infantry from enemy
aircraft.  He could handle whatever was on the ground.  No doubt he
would have pushed the Soviets back to Russia, inch by inch if needed.
