Conservatives suggest the seemingly harsh measures that they suggest in
the sincere belief that these resolute approaches will actually save
lives by bringing the hostilities to an abrupt end. The bleeding-heart
hand-wringing liberal approach gives us the Korea, Vietnam and I dare
say Iraq scenarios.
