Good.

We do care about the world around us, don't we?
Yes, and the way to show it is to do what you're doing: Go out and do something that makes a difference.

I would submit that there an inverse relation between the amount of OT posting and the amount of good a person is doing.

Given the quantity and quality of most of the OT posts (yes, including my own), and the unvarying, unending topics of "fags", "liberalism is a mental disorder", "repuke - i- cans", "rag-heads", "straw men", "am-not -- are too!", "no, YOU'RE a poopy head", "global warming", "no such thing", "bush sux", "bush is god", trolls, people who just can NOT ignore the trolls, etc, etc, etc, etc, it's probably good that OT dies down once in a while to give everyone a break.

Is OT valid? Sure. Does it have the potential for doing good? You bet. Sometimes even does. Does it meet that potential often? Scarcely ever, imo. Do I want it to go away? No. Do I mind when it slows down once in a while? Hell, no! My 2 cents. Agree, disagree, or flame (and be ignored) as you like.
