Quite a list, Ted. I am curious, though. Are you planning to get
involved with that shared computing initiative that is analyzing radio
signals in the hope of finding intelligent life in the universe? I am
asking because you do seem to have some spare CPU cycles available. <g>

Subject: Re: [NF] -- Microsoft Defends WGA,Plans Similar Tool to
Validate Office

Just for example, today I'm running:

Windows XP Pro, SP2, all patched up. WGA is installed. No "Malicious
removal tool," nor MS AntiSpyWare.

West Wind Web Monitor (pre-,NET runtime version) FireFox with 15+ tabs
open, including work, GMail. etc.
SciTE text editor
CygWin bash shell and UNIX emulator, ssh'd into a Linux dev box
subversion Groove (client's requirement) (the version before it was
purchased by MS) WinSCP for file transfer Skype OpenOffice.org 2.0 AVG
Anti-Virus On occasion, VFP 8.0 or earlier, SeaMonkey, Thunderbird,
Opera, Yahoo!
IM, PuTTY, VNC, XAMPP.

There is life beyond Microsoft. Once you get out of the box, you'll be
amazed at how big the world is outside of the box. When I was inside of
the box, I never appreciated how constricting it was.
