=>Maybe it's the heat, Hal. It's around 100 here, again.
=>
=>I can't imagine that you've offended anyone. I for one
=>appreciate your thoughts and presence.
=>

Omigosh, no one is offended? I will try harder.

=>
=>I think people only reply to posts they want to debate,
=>correct, refute or add to. If one is 'self-contained' and
=>speaks for itself, then it just ... disappears into the
=>ether. Also, it's possible some of us are being filtered, and
=>that would tend to cut down responses.
=>

I can't imagine that anyone would be filtering me, of all people. Will all of
you who are filtering my posts please raise your hands so I can get a
fingernail count?

=>
=>
=>Reinventing the same wheels over and over have kept money
=>flowing into the computer world for some time now, and it
=>wouldn't change until some time in the future when people get
=>serious about standards. If history is any guide, it wouldn't
=>happen. Remember ADA was going to take over, first by being
=>gov't-wide mandated, and then eventually by everyone?
=>

Do I remember Ada? I went out with her a few times but she was more interested
in that Babbage guy and his difference engine. To this day I still do not
understand why women are not attracted to me.

=>
=>
=>Likewise, and at the moment I can't wait to say Happy September!
=>

And that reminds me of a song, Bill.
