That seems like a shame. I don't know the other guy but Lieberman seemed to make sense on a lot of issues. I'd been ok voting for him. As an Independent, he's got no shot. No independent does....never will either. This two party only system sucks.....get rid of the parties somewhat...let's just vote for the most popular guy and the 2nd most popular gets the VP role. ;-)

    Good riddance.

This vote was, more than anything else, a referendum on Bush.

His opponent said that pretty much verbatim on CNN, according to the yahoo article.

Lieberman embraced Bush's vision of the US in the world, and he paid the price. He's so in the pocket of the Bushies that Karl Rove offered to help Lieberman's campaign, and the largest get-out-the- vote effort in Connecticut was by Republican groups who wanted to see Lieberman win.

That's like Republicans who tried desperately to get the Dem Nomination last time to Howard Dean!

I admire him for making a choice and sticking with it, but when it's the wrong choice, you pay the price. Looks like Bush's famous kiss on Lieberman's cheek was more like the Kiss of Death.

More irony: I thought the EXACT phrase when I read that too!!!
