Ewido is the program I recommend to all my clients. It is very effective.
The vendor issues updates almost once a day; usually when I boot my PC.
It has an online module to check for real-time spyware and a manual scanner
to use in case stuff gets through other security programs.
It has signatures for over 375,000 infections which gets bigger every day
and picks up where ant-virus programs leave off.
