Someone I used to know called that "trying to put God in a box". If God is
what we say, then definitions that try to pin down details are meaningless.

I love the allegory and metaphor in the Bible. There's a lot of beauty in
the texts. I find it very distressing that anyone would try to take these
things absolutely literally and use them like a club.
