The "pay as you go" model? "Software as a Service" model? This was a buzzword recently. Wonder how it's catching on? My clients would rather the data be on their own networks rather than hosting centrally on the web for others to pirate.

Well, one could reasonably argue we've been essentially doing "rental fee" software with the Windows OS for some time now (paying more for nothing - or paying for what was broken already, etc). But at least MS allows you the "illusion" that your data is only on your network.
