NX is a client-server combination that lets you use Linux as a terminal server over secure and encrypted tunnels. There's no rocket science here, but the setup is simple, the clients are easy to install in Linux, Mac and Windows and the GUI and "user experience" is pretty smooth. Worth checking out. At a couple of client sites, I've set up ssh tunnels and redirected ports for http, vnc, webmin and so forth. That's fine for me as a developer, but this might be a way to provide much easier access for users. If the client's running web based intranet apps, this could even serve as a terminal server-like or VPN-like solution, with clients easily installable for workers on the road. http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=15667 -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
