Contemplating something is not the same as wishing for it to be true.
Wondering what a post Blair political landscape looks like is not the
same as wanting him dead.

<< I am suggesting this is unhealthy. YMMV, and obviously does.

I do not see a hypothetical asssination in itself as disturbing,
particularly if it is only to set the context of a film. If the film is
genuine in exploring the issues surrounding a post Bush political
landscape, then I welcome it. I would be no more disturbed if the film
depicted Blair being assasinated.

If you accept free speech as a basic premise of a civilised society,
then you must also accept that some people's ideas and opinions will be
orthogonal to yours. What you find disturbing, may not be so to someone
else, and vice versa.

!
! The clip showing Bush being assasinated would appear to be short, and
! appears briefly at the start to give the film its context i.e. a post
! Bush, post 9/11 political landscape. The film would then appear to !
comment on this political landscape. How good or bad the film is, I !
don't know because I have not seen it, but then, neither have you.

No I haven't and I didn't represent that I did. Moreover, it doesn't
matter how short the clip is---it simply reveals the lengths to which
the left is going in imagining that for which they dream.

!
! I think you have delibertely and disingenuously mis-interpreted the !
intention of the film to make one of your long winded and pious rants !
about how the ills of the world are all down to the left, and that !
everyone on the left hates Bush etc etc. Yawn. It is also ! typical
that ! you have not even seen the film, and yet are ranting about it
already.
! Typical, but not in the least bit surprising.

I was not ranting about the film per se. What I was commenting about
(taking a step back from the particulars) was that this is hardly the
first attempt by self-proclaimed culture experts to use the context of
Bush's hypothetical assassination to make their political points.

A novel, several cartoons, and now a full-blown movie, all fantasizing
or otherwise hypothesizing his assassination to make a point about
politics.

I am suggesting this is unhealthy. YMMV, and obviously does.

!
! You are in serious danger of turning into a caricature like figure of
! fun like Michael. No one takes him seriously either
