Anthony, Good to have you back.
> Are (some) people upset because they think President Bush lied to them > for the reasons we went into Iraq? If so was it because they > belived what they think he said and felt that we should go, later > finding out that it was a 'lie' so felt betrayed? Or maybe they > 'knew' it was a lie at the start and therefore we should of not > gone, lie or not. Is it the 'lying' or the going that has (some) > people upset? I assume there is a mixture, and of course other > 'solutions' other then the two I just listed exist. Many of us believe that America better have an awfully good reason before we put lives on the line by going to war. We had that reason for going into Afghanistan, and you don't see a lot of people complaining about that decision. In the case of Iraq, a number of reasons were presented that turned out not to be true, and it looks like there were people who had a good idea that those reasons were invalid before they were presented. (Exactly who knew what when is the big question that remains to be answered.) Add to the that the idea that once Saddam's military was defeated, the U.S. had no plan for when a friendly and popular government didn't form within a week so that we ended up in the morass we're currently facing. -Jerry Wolper [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
