Here's the thing. I was laid off because the team
leader spent $80,000 more than he should have by
taking copious amounts of overtime. He was billing
60 to 80 hour a week. In addition, his wife, a
administrative assistant, was billing 60 - 80 hours a
week. This was illegal as hell as why would a friggin
secretary need to bill 80 hours a week? I was billing
40 and never billed more than 40 in 4 years. So I got
none of the extra gravy.

After lying to the government overseer on a progress
report swearing they were on budget, they went back to
him a month later and asked for an additional 80k.
The government said no. Since I was the next highest
paid guy on the contract, they sent me packing. Now,
they could have made less money on me, or less money
on all of us. There were 7 engineers on the staff.
Each one was probably making 100k each in profit for
the company. They couldn't take a little bit of a hit
on me? They couldn't break even on me? They couldn't
lay me off til the end of the fiscal year and bring me
back? They were raking in money hand over fist on the
rental of the two facilities, labor, and equipment.
additionally, I was the only engineer in the NJ
office.

Now I'll be God-damned if I'm going to bail his ass
out for any amount of money, especially since it's
about 8 hours of work. You want to give me a year's
salary for 8 hours, then we'll talk.

It's not like this bastard once called me in a year to
see how I was doing.

Oh yeah, and the other admin assistant settled a
sexual harassment suit for a fairly large amount when
he offered to promote her for some sexual favors. The
company paid that, not him.

And I get laid off.

F*ck him.
