I've started going to a new dentist recently, and after yesterday's
cleaning, I happened to get a good look at some of the screens on the
system they are using. At first, I wasn't sure, but it had the
unmistakable look of a VFP application. What started to give it away
was the 3 paged pageframe with the page tabs being wide (the vfp
default) - I am fairly sure this is a VFP exclusive, ie no other
language makes the tabs look like that. Still I wasn't 100% sure at
this point, since the interface had some very unique grid looking
layout and behavior that made me unsure (might have just been 3rd
party add ons).
The dead giveaway though, was that at one point the user logged out
and back in, and upon successful login, the Foxpro dead giveaway,
Wait Window flashed really quickly saying "Succefully Logged In" or
something stupid like that.
I didn't catch the name of the program, but I thought it was really
cool to see VFP @ my dentist. FWIW - This is a very 'hi-tech' system
- the office is largely paperless, and that includes the actual
x-rays which are stored right onto the pc and into your record
history, I was quite impressed with it. It would make a great
showcase for VFP, if only I knew what app it was..
I'm curious if others have seen VFP in the field when they least expected it.
