Yup, he was right and I was wrong - I had the rowsource as aMydata instead of thisform.aMydata - and instantiating the busobj/dataobj in the form load (as suggested by Michael Babcock) also works - although I'm working towards something more elegant than' thisform.[oBiz.]oData.cMyText' that does work just fine. *However* I definitely have some old apps where I have codesomething like: thisform.Pageframe1.page3.cboBox7.rowsource='thisform.aSomeArray' (ughh!) - because it *didn't* work setting it in the cbobox control properties - so the question is "has this behaviour changed in later versions of vfp?"
