standards in this group, Dave ? And, since you are concerned about
standards, I believe you will agree that your first sentence requires
better punctuation. Furthermore, although Burchfield's "New Fowler's"
has a longish entry on among and amongst, Partridge states clearly, and
in my opinion rightly, that amongst is obsolescent for among. Maybe
it's just an age thing, but that's illegal now anyway !
