True. I was looking for the first occurrence if inappropriate language
in the post, and it was clearly Foley's. But you're right, it's clear
that those two had a past and Foley was comfortable saying that.

them enjoyed playing footsy.

I'm glad Foley had the sense to resign immediately, at least.
I don't think he realistically had a lot of choice. Had he stayed, he
would have been hounded daily by the press, and would have had to have
been loudly and publicly condemned by all of his "shocked" colleagues.
By resigning, he's been able to curl up in his hole somewhere, and we
haven't heard a peep out of him.
Also, he's in a bit more of moral pickle than the other politician you
referred to - he's carrying on with a high school student, whereas,
*I*IRC correctly, the other infamous page was of age and out on her
own. (Oh, and of the appropriate gender - (all together: "Not that that
matters!"))
And the page, if he in ANY way contributed to the conversation in
this light (and some of the transcripts clearly indicate the page was,
er, on the same page as Foley), then he's a dumbass too.
The only part of this that I find really funny, is that in the
transcripts, this schmuck goes on and on about how clueless his mom is
about computers. Well, computer literate or not, I'm guessing she's
seen the IM transcripts by now. (Including the "mom as retard" bits!
:-D )
