Yep.  The Department of Education and the Department of Energy need to be shut
down and the money returned to the states.

John,

I missed the cartoon, but spent a little time this morning looking at the
budgets for the departments of Education and Energy.  Both are attributable
to Jimmy Carter (hope and change - Obamma I.)  Both departments are
responsible for "investing" in something .... something above 100 billion.

I just love the Pell Grants.  Inflation in college costs by far exceeds that
of health care.  Then I realized - give students money and make loans easy
and that fuels the increase in education costs.  Raise tuition and the
government will fund it.  The college professors are as liberal as hell and
they promote it - no in many ways they demand it.  Send more to college -
since everyone deserves a college education and train more stinking
liberals.

It is analogous to the states and the teachers unions.  The government feeds
them money, they get fat and support the government.

Yesterday's headline in the Raleigh newspaper was the UNC Education system
was going to take a hit for 414 million in cuts.  That is a chunk of change.
Is my math correct - approaching a half billion???  Today, they followed up.
Some courses might be eliminated, larger class sizes and God forbid students
would have to spend more time waiting in lines!  Say what!

I gotta wonder where that 414 million came from last year.

Oh, well.

Carl

There really should be a disclaimer on those cartoons. It should say
"Produced by the DNC" at the bottom. Those corporate jets are responsible
for 1/10th of 1 percent and I don't care if they cut those out. The real
need is to reduce spending, not just the GROWTH of spending. They are ALL a
bunch of liars as far as I'm concerned. They haven't done anything about
runaway spending. They only want to slow the growth of spending, and that is
not what is necessary. I wish we could reboot congress until we get a crew
in that understands spending decreases.

John
