Ted, Yes, it's really ends with ".local" Mybox.powerchurch.local where mybox changes with things that begin with alpha characters. This particular box has digits in that beginning. Though other boxes that haven't a number anywhere in the name are also returning that same message. I know this because I just fired up my laptop, connected to the VPN via the office gateway, NSLookup is returning proper information and Ping is returning the same "Ping request could not find host mybox.powerchurch.local. Please check the name and try again." PING mybox - success PING mybox.powerchurch.local - could not find host I started using the *.powerchurch.local because it used to work and mybox wouldn't work. But!! That was before the new SonicWall VPN box arrived, and before the recent DHCP changes made. Since the boxes I connect to are handed a new DHCP occasionally I use the names instead of the IPs. Given some time, the mybox.powerchurch.local begins to work.
