Last February/March I installed and tested the Beta versions of all
three - IE9, FF4, and Chrome9. I was amazed at how parallel the (major)
UI changes were - tabbed browsing is the big deal. I ended up keeping
them all, but still use FireFox (now 5) the most.

The reason you "couldn't get it to use Google" is because you haven't
come to grips with the changes - the UI has changed a LOT, and the same
goes for IE and Chrome. Chrome has the simplest interface, FF has the
best Bookmarks and Add-in system, and IE does the fastest rendering on
complex web pages. They all work well. Make your choice and learn how
to use it.
