A couple of thoughts come to mind:
1. Any possibility of a comment with a trailing semi-colon? This will
cause the comment to be "continued" leading to weird results.
X=x+2 && Here, I cleverly add 2 to X;
2. There may be an invisible character at the end of one of the lines.
Try moving down the suspect lines (just before the jump occurs), and
pressing the "end" key on each line - does it jump way too far past the
end of the line? Backspace away.
