Hello Pete, The first paragraph is true the second isn't by any stretch of a the imagination. There has been very little ethnic involvement beyond the first situation where a person was shot by police. The police refused to provide any details to anyone and that is what is supposed to have started the original riot in Tottenham (District of North London).
After that the trouble that followed has been predominantly white many middle class youths on "Aspirational Rioting" targeting shops where they can get mobile phones, trainers, plasma tv's etc It is plain and simple theft and wanton destruction... nothing to do with multiculturalism. Please stop trying to inject a racial element into what should have been dealt with by the youths parents. Also the word Asian does not automatically infer Muslim... I'm sure millions of Hindus, Buddhists would testify that there are more Asians than just Muslims... I would also take issue with all the socialists (read Democrats or left of Tea Party) who are complaining that it's the budget cuts that are causing this. A ten year old kid isn't going to be socially marginalised by cuts that haven't started having an impact yet... Not building an aircraft carrier isn't a reason to riot and loot. It is not a racial event it's criminal behaviour.... if you don't believe that it's not racial, quoted also from the Telegraph: "In Dalston, one of east London's most fashionable districts, the mostly Turkish owners of barber shops and food stores pulled down the shutters and guarded the streets. With nearby Hackney being targeted by rioters and looters, police officers were scarce. Jerry Keshin, who runs Jerry's Food and Wine on Stoke Newington Road, said: "I shut early because I heard they were coming. I went down to Hoxton to get my boys and we drove back up and saw a group of about 10 rioters who were on their way into our area. We chased them into one of the estates and had it out. Then we came back to the corner of Shacklewell Lane to keep the area safe. A load more of them came through at about 11.40 but the whole community was out to chase them away." The shopkeepers were back on the streets yesterday in case the looters came back. The Bengali community in Whitechapel also fended off a mob, who arrived to target shops on Commercial Road as prayers were finishing at the East London Mosque. "Within about 10 minutes there were 1,500 people on the street, not just Asians but also Somalis," said Muhammad Ali, 27. The mob fled on the Docklands Light Railway. Mahbub Alam, 35, owner of a computer shop, said their intervention reflected the community's determination to protect itself." -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Pete Theisen Sent: 10 August 2011 06:50 To: ProFox Email List Subject: [OT] London Riot Reports Sketchy in US Hi Everybody, http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=45406 "Perhaps the identity of these rioters made the U.S. media uncomfortable. The riots began after police officers from a unit that "investigates gun crime in the black community" stopped a taxicab and shot Mark Duggan, a 29-year-old father of four. The circumstances of the shooting were murky, and rumors quickly filled the void of official information. "Soon after the riots began, the mobs acquired a significant "Asian" (read: Muslim) population, and eventually white anarchists joined in the fun. It may have started with a racial component, but it ended up being an impeccably multicultural disaster." Well, now that it is multicultural we will find out what the heck is going on. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ http://elect-pete-theisen.com/ [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
