Okay, that came across wrong. I wouldn't just up and quit, of course. But if I wasn't able to convince them of the folly of HTML email when better options exist, I'd feel like I'm not being very effective and it would be a strong indication that things aren't working out. It would be very reckless to just walk out in the middle of a project, and if that were my M.O. I doubt I'd still be working.
