        What about 01/02/2011? Is that January 2 or February 1?

        If you're willing to assume en-US localization, and html-escape slashes 
(i.e., "/"), try this:

http://leafe.com/date_from_string/<your date string>

        I can't guarantee it will handle everything, as I just threw it 
together in 5 minutes, but it's worth a shot...
