Right. I just figured folks were doing this to "make double sure" that the variable was set to null so that the automatic garbage cleanup would take care of it too. Probably extra code, just like folks who put the SELECT MyCurrentScanArea at the bottom of their SCAN..ENDSCAN loop just before the ENDSCAN.
