Peaceful? Have you missed the rapes and vandalism?

I think "Occupy Wall Street" is a valid, peaceful, demonstration about the current inequalities present in our system of sharing the USA GNP, which the middle class so dearly contributed, and about the reckless greed of Wall Street that has cost so many, so much, including their homes, their college funds for the kids, their businesses, their retirement security, their jobs, and for some, it has cost them everything. Blaming the "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrators for the bad economy only obscures the issue, and isn't helpful. I hope the USA economy never degenerate into situations similar to what is happening in Greece and Italy. People trapped in those economies are madder than hornets that have had their nest set afire. These Europeans are angry mostly at their government that rack up debt beyond and hope of being able to repay it, and the austerity measure being imposed on them, even though the have no blame in it. I understand, completely, their anger. Below is an excerpt that recently appeared in the New York Times. Click on the link below for the entire article which give the facts of the matter. LOL #------------------------------------------------ Excerpt: Inequality is back in the news, largely thanks to Occupy Wall Street, but with an assist from the Congressional Budget Office. And you know what that means: It’s time to roll out the obfuscators! Anyone who has tracked this issue over time knows what I mean. Whenever growing income disparities threaten to come into focus, a reliable set of defenders tries to bring back the blur. Think tanks put out reports claiming that inequality isn’t really rising, or that it doesn’t matter. Pundits try to put a more benign face on the phenomenon, claiming that it’s not really the wealthy few versus the rest, it’s the educated versus the less educated. So what you need to know is that all of these claims are basically attempts to obscure the stark reality: We have a society in which money is increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few people, and in which that concentration of income and wealth threatens to make us a democracy in name only. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/04/opinion/oligarchy-american-style.html?_r=1&WT.mc_id=NYT-E-I-NYT-E-AT-1109-L22 or http://tinyurl.com/crsh4mz #------------------------------------------------- Regards, LelandJ On 11/09/2011 12:21 PM, john harvey wrote: > Might have something to do with the question being wrong.
