They tried that with Solyndra.  They lost 50 cents on every dollar they sold.

Hi Michael,

We have more than a few existing facilities that are simply not used. 
The red tape has already been tied - years ago. If the unions play the 
card right they can export the red tape to the third world as well.

It is not impossible that they could grow some nationalism for the good 
old USA! Part of the problem is that this has never even been suggested 
as far as I know.

And, of course, me suggesting it is not anyone who is anyone suggesting it.
