Most WAPs can operate as a bridge, but not many routers can. If you simply want
to extend the range of the network then WAP is the way to go.

Subject: [NF] Wireless Router vs Wireless access point

I know what the difference is, but is there any advantage to buying a wireless
access point over a wireless router set to an access point.

As I understand, you can make most wireless routers into wireless access points
by configuring them differently.

Any suggestions?
