Why wait ?
You can already import a used Renault Kangoo (suggest the ones made for
Belgium or Italy because you want a LHD model) for about 6000 Euro (sale
price plus shipping to the Port of Houston).
There's no issue with any air quality standards on any model made from
1998 forward to now.
Why try to buy a NEW one? Why try to wait for the American Market ? These
vehicles have already been out on the NON-USA market for about 15 years
now.
If you want something small and sporty and diesel - you can also import a
Mercedes A110 or the Ford Focus - both in diesel and LHD, again from
Belgium or Italy, with air quality standards far surpassing what the USA
standards are.
