I'm using MariaDB (which, if I've read it right, is basically mySQL 
5.x).  I'm using the LOAD DATA function from inside HeidiSQL.  I must 
have been looking at import wrong before, as it now looks like the 
native IMPORT option (which translates into that LOAD DATA command) will 
work within HeidiSQL, but now the date format is screwing with me.  The 
provider's input file has the dates in "MM-DD-YYYY" format (complete 
with quotes!) instead of "YYYY-MM-DD" format.

I'm scouring the help files but wanted to throw up a signal flare in 
case someone had an idea.
