Big5 (traditional chinese) and GB (simplified chinese) were called
Double-Byte Character Sets, or ANSI.

If you don't need to deal with Traditional Cantonese chinese letters
in Hong Kong, then they should be all right for your task. Otherwise,
you would want to use Unicode.
