Lew, Take a look at Richcopy. It's a Microsoft product used by their internal personnel and it allows multi threaded copying as well as copying only newer files etc.
Also Microsoft and free is Synctoy that synchronises folders automatically. Finally there is Fastcopy, an open source solution with lots of command line options so you can easily schedule your copies. It also works on 64 bit machines Windows 7 no problem. A better scripting lang than "Batch"? I have the task manager run a scheduled batch each night that copies newer files out to a NAS drive. Every computer in the house uses this technique, but I wonder if there isn't now something faster. I don't think xcopy is a 64 bit app, but then this proc is probably more limited by my wireless lan's bandwidth and speed. -Lew S [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
