I'm trying to find a way to vertically scroll/position a page
within Word's viewport to a specific vertical position, eg. go to
page 5 and scroll down 300 vertical pixels.

Any suggestions on how to do this? I've been googling various
combinations of ...

(vertical|vertically) (position|scroll) page (ms|microsoft) word

... without success. There's lot of suggestions on how to
vertically position text on a physical page - I'm trying to
figure out how to vertically position the display of a page on
the screen.

My end goal is to be able to record the position of a page on the
screen and return to that position the next time a document is
re-opened. Shift+F5 moves the cursor to the last point of edit
(which brings me half way there), but it does not restore the
destination page's position within the viewport to its original
position.

Any suggestions on how to do this or better google terms
appreciated.

Thanks!
Malcolm
