The bill got passed because the Demoncrats controlled when the bill was announced out of committee and then the final vote. Pelosi meant exactly what she said except that now after we have seen what the bill is doing we are even more against it. Many people today still believe the FUD, as the bill still has not gone into effect, and I think this is what Nancy Pelosi meant when she said people would understand the bill better when passed; because, at that time there would be irrefutable proof of the lies/FUD. The passage of the bill was a monumental task.
