I just wanted to pass along a VFP success story of sorts. Hopefully, this
will be of interest to some of you.

Over the last 2.5 years, our company, The Intellection Group
(http://www.IntellectionGroup.com <http://www.intellectiongroup.com/> ), has
worked with a particular client in building a complex extranet system using
our VFP-based technology framework.

Last Friday, this same client received an important award from the
Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), beating out over 50 other nominees,
for "innovative use of technology" by a "tech-enabled" company. The award
ceremony was held at the posh Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead (Atlanta)
in front of an audience of almost 400. Matthew Szulik, chief executive
officer of Red Hat, was the keynote speaker. Marc Fleury, chief executive
officer of JBOSS (a recent Red Hat acquisition), was chairperson of the
event.

VFP is not mentioned anywhere in either the citation or nomination; but,
then, neither are any of the other technology pieces involved (SQL Server,
Javascript, etc.) The point is, an "award-winning" system was successfully
created for a business that really needed it. The technology involved is not
the most important thing; by far the most important thing is solving the
business need with the right mix of tools and people. VFP, in the hands of
talented people, can be part of a great technology solution package; for our
company, it will continue to be an integral part of our toolbox for the
foreseeable future because it delivers results for our clients.
