<crap snipped> Instead, the post might read (and I'm just guessing):
"It's time for me to deploy my first VFP application that uses MySQL
as the backend, where the client will be hosting the MySQL database.
The client has installed the database on one of their machines, and I
intend to install my app and MyODBC on each of the machines that will
use my application. My application uses DSN-less ODBC connections, so
I think all I need to do is substitute the Host IP address in the
string I submit to SQLStringConnect() in the VFP application. Is that
right or do I need to do anything else?"
Yes, that's EXACTLY it! See, it wasn't that hard to interpret, was it? <g>

Maybe we should see if someone would actually *pay* us to answer these
questions, since they make it so hard for us to do so.
No one puts a gun to your head, TR. You don't want to answer? Then
don't. Life here will go on. Questions will be answered by someone
else. You're intelligent enough to know that. That's what community is
all about. Ask for help when you need it, and give back when you can as
well. I've no bad feelings about this post. If it was fragmented, then
perhaps I need to put more into them. But then again, it was either you
or Whil awhile back who told me how long winded some of my posts were,
so perhaps I was trying for more brevity! haha.
Never mind!
You can't use that phrase without putting my copyright after it. <g>
