Malcolm - many thanks for your reply and very helpful pointers.
It turns out that the function required is gdipGetImagePixelFormat. This is not to be found on new2news and Cesar's blog did not mention it or anything similar. It is in GDI+X but buried deep within a class as part of an access_ ??? method. Alexander's gpImage came up trumps - it is very lightweight (compared with GDI+X <g>) but has exactly what I need - image height and width as well as PixelFormat.
Malcolm you are a brick ! Cheers Malcolm Greene wrote:
Paul, 4 places to look: 1. Cesar Chalom's blog on working with images in VFP (another 6 out of 5 star site) http://weblogs.foxite.com/cesarchalom/ 2. Alexander Golovlev: GDI+ Image Class (gpImage*) http://www.universalthread.com/wconnect/wc.dll?2,54,33,18584 3. www.news2news.com's GDIPLUS class 4. Sedna's new GDI+X class (see also Cesar's weblog) If one of these has your answer, please post back your solution :) Malcolm
