Hi, fellow fossil...

When I saw your post I thought, "Surely FoxPro was around earlier than 
1989 - I was using it on a PC AT!"  So I looked up FoxPro history and it 
appears you are correct.  So I must have used dBASE II on the AT, and 
then dBASE III until 1989/90.

One day I got a big envelope from someplace called Fox Software with 
sample disks of FoxPro.  I tried it, saw it was much faster than dBASE 
III, and was hooked for life.  I never used FoxBase, so I'm guessing the 
trial sample was part of the marketing campaign for the new FoxPro 1.0.
