Hi Adam, There are a number of Arabs in Kenya. Enough to comprise most of his ancestry on his father's side - 7/16 Arab. He is half white so that is the other half. You have to go back a number of generations to get to the "black" person, but I guess he is using the one drop theory and claiming to be "black" with only one Negro ancestor many years ago.
