I agree - a missing report writer is a bit of a deal-breaker. I'm actually in discussions with this guy about building a very small and basic e-comm App to process e-comm orders - and doing it in VFP. And, the guy is pushing to code it in a newer language - like PHP & SQL, or something like that. But, I know VFP - and I can bang out the App VERY Quickly because I know VFP. But, more so - I already built the App before - at the co. where I am currently employed - but, I will be Re-building it From Scratch offsite. And, making it a bit different. And, its NOT an App that the co. here sells to many clients - it was essentially a One-Time Stand-alone Custom App that I built. Again - its VERY Simplistic. Although, the new version will have a number of newer and more complex features.
So - I am also keeping my eyes open for other technologies related to VFP. I even spoke to this guy about Fox-in-the-Cloud as another way to make a VFP App that actually operates in the Cloud and runs as a Webpage. -K- -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Alan Bourke Sent: Thursday, May 03, 2012 9:48 AM Well, it's a nice easy install on Ubuntu. Looks interesting and with great potential for sure - it sort of reminds me of a non-cloud-based ApplicationCraft. I'd be curious as to how much support there would be for third-party controls and extensions. There's no report designer yet, either. I always wonder why people don't make it an absolute priority to get a good report designer into these things very early on. It's such a killer feature if you have it. Also the code editor is a bit basic. But it's a beta, after all. -- Alan Bourke _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/289ea162f5642645b5cf64d624c66a140e260...@us-ny-mail-002.waitex.net ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
