Admittedly, I'm not going to run off and spend time to make sure you
don't have a thread to hang onto. I have been following the subject of
casualty counts, and everything I have seen tells me the numbers have
been grossly under-reported in the spirit of "we don't do body counts".

What this "new information" you have tells me is that two (2)
respectable institutions were involved in publishing that report, not
just one. This makes the report all the more trustworthy.

In case you didn't read it, this link that you've provided to a Johns
Hopkins page, just happens to be an update published a few days ago, and
what it reports is re-affirmation of the earlier estimate of over
650,000 dead:

--------
October 11, 2006 Updated Iraq Survey Affirms Earlier Mortality Estimates
Mortality Trends Comparable to Estimates by Those Using Other Counting
Methods
As many as 654,965 more Iraqis may have died since hostilities began in
Iraq in March 2003 than would have been expected under pre-war
conditions, according to a survey conducted by researchers at the Johns
Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Al Mustansiriya University
in Baghdad. The deaths from all causes-violent and non-violent-are over
and above the estimated 143,000 deaths per year that occurred from all
causes prior to the March 2003 invasion.

It's a question of who has the right attitude and is following the truth
versus those who invent and perpetuate lies to pursue an ill-conceived
agenda that is seriously damaging our world.
