Stop worrying about and just do it.  Learning new syntax is a pain at 
first, but it's really pretty easy.  Knowing what you "want" to do in 
the code is the hard part, and you've already got that whipped!

I've been doing this since 1958, through assembler, JOVIAL, COBOL, 
ALGOL, APL, FORTRAN, BASIC, C, dBASE and FoxPro, and I can tell you that 
while the mechanics change, the underlying job of designing a program to 
do what you need to get done does not.  Good luck!
