I'll second that. In my experience, desktop machines outlast laptops by at 
least one order of magnitude. Plus you get more speed, more power, greater 
ease of self-repair, for less money, with a desktop. If yer gonna plug up a 
monitor, keyboard,and mouse to a laptop most of the time, why not get 
yourself a desktop machine and a USB HDD and save yourself a lot of time, 
money and aggravation?
