That's actually a great point, except that all our so-leaders, not just the titular ones, seem to be figureheads and puppets these days. Even God of the Teleprompter hardly seems to call the shots, unless they're basketball finalist predictions. He hasn't done so well causing the water levels to fall or the planet to cool. > > You still around Lancaster? Nope. Back in Florida three weeks ago on Saturday, Praise God. After two years of bragging to my Lancastrian friends how much I loved hurricane season we were greeted upon our arrival with Tropical Storm Debby, who didn't do Dallas after all, but instead opted to squat on top of Florida for almost a week, drenching everything with 24+ inches of rain. It was nice despite the storm to experience actual warmth, not the pretend kind of warmth that purports to emanate through those razor-thin radiators that supposedly heat homes in England. The only unpleasantness so far is that we're holed up in a hotel till the owner of our new rental home negotiates with the People's Republic of <HOA community name omitted to protect the guilty> regarding some outstanding issues the good comrades there are using to hold up our application. On another positive note, I have a new job in Wesley Chapel just north of Tampa, a Senior Software Dev position at a company that creates decision support software for market traders. Fun work with neural nets and complex data visualization requirements, etc.. It's nice to have a cash flow again, even more so a positive one tied to interesting work. I think I'll be here awhile. At least as long as the markets still exist. - Publius > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of > Publius Maximus > Sent: 04 July 2012 16:08 > To: ProFox Email List > Subject: Re: [OT] 4th July - odd thought > > On Wed, Jul 4, 2012 at 6:03 AM, Adam Buckland <[email protected]> > wrote: >> If you hadn't kicked the British out of America... you wouldn't have Obama >> as president! > > No, he'd be our King.
