Rick Schummer has a good whitepaper on maintaining multiple versions of VFP 9 
installed. You may be able to apply some of his techniques.

Unless you have some urgent reason, I would encourage you to NOT uninstall 
VFP6. Installing and uninstalling ANY software gives Windows a chance to screw 
up, and uninstalling after putting a newer version in place has the danger of 
unregistering things you don't want unregistered. On many of my development 
machines I have three or four or more versions installed and they work fine.

Glad to hear the Hacker's Guide is helping!
