Charlie, in his usual self-effacing manner, doesn't mention that he's a
great project manager and a gifted developer. The system he designed is
just right for the task, and there is no need whatsoever to even think
about replacing it anytime soon. If they were smart, they'd just give
him what he needs and leave him alone - but politicians, being
politicians are far more concerned with who has the power then who does
the right thing. I have no taste for them whatsoever, but it was a
pleasure working with Charlie.

I think I mentioned this, but will again: there is a venture capitalist,
Tim Draper (of Draper Fisher Jurvetson), in San Francisco, who is
interested in backing a new database company. I was very impressed with
Tim Draper (google on name for more), so I wrote them and they replied,
wanting more info on my product. But then I thought about it some more,
and then finally decided that a large cash infusion would be too
demanding on me (I have to work at a certain pace to keep my own sense
of balance), so I let it go. Might be something you guys can work with,
though.
