Of the two I sell I like the Coby the best, it is the cheaper of the two but
it has more apps ready installed. It seems to work faster especially when
browsing. It has three touch button on the case for home menu and back and
so has a slightly bigger screen area. Its book reader app is more
adjustable and more like a Kindle. The sound is slightly louder and for
someone like me who's hearing is not so good sounds clearer, the camera
however is not so good as the GoTab.
These are the only two that I have had dealings with. So the above things
are what you need to think about before you purchase one.
If they were to bring then out at these prices but running windows and able
to run VFP then that would be perfect for me but also good for my clients
who run windows on their desktops.

I have been doing a bit of research about programming Android apps and the
main language seems to be Java but the same people talk about Python and so
I wonder whether Dabo would work.

Message for Dave Crosier, Printer OK tested a run of Labels and client was
pleased with the results. Changed to Arial Narrow font. What fonts does he
recommend.

Cheers

Peter

Subject: RE: [NF] Writing a program for Linux Tablets.

Hey Peter,

I'm curious about these Tablets. I just did a search on Amazon for the Coby
- as I heard a while ago that they were coming out with a Tablet - and it
would literally be around $100. I actually read a ZDNet article about it -
and they were saying how the Coby name & lettering were a Knock-off of Sony.
And, that they make really CHEAP Electronics.

Now - I have no Real need for a Tablet. For me - it would be more like a
Toy. So - something like a Coby - would seem almost enticing at a very low
price point. Are they really any good? One review on the web had a bit of
complaints about it - regarding the screens and how they looked visually.

Also - at those low price points - I know they don't have like 3G (which I
would NOT Bother with anyway) - but, they must have Wifi. Am I right?

Anyway - its more of a curiousity...

Thanks in advance for your feedback,
-K-

Real Basic fan here so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Early in 2013, they'll release the next version of Real Studio but with a
new pricing model...
