After looking all over the internet for an error opening a form in my development machine that had this control, found a message on the list with the same problem, dont know if its solved but the solution that worked for me is on this site: http://www.marmic.co.uk/vb6_files/vb6-downloads.html. Downloaded the files at the bottom of the page where msoul32.ocx and vbctrls.reg appears and added that vbctrls to the registry, now my form opens without errors and was able to make the changes.
