I've been describing my experience of learning GNU/Linux as similar to going for a hike up a mountain. It's fun exercise. Certainly challenging. There's times of doubt. But once you get to the top, the air is clean, refreshing, and the view is great.

I'm looking for a similar experience with the next programming environment. Dabo looks like it might be just the thing. PHP is nice but it really doesn't lend itself to fat client development. (yet?) I'm also looking at REALbasic too. It's kinda like the Yang to Dabo's Yin, however. <g> I'm hoping to publish some screencasts on RB soon. I think some VFP developers may find RB of interest too.

"...sucks..." is the word I was thinking of....but then again, maybe not, as I really enjoyed learning PL-SQL when working with Oracle, and I liked T-SQL with SQL Server recently too. So, I take that back. It sucks when you need it right away, but if you've got time, it can be cool!
